Gabriel Parniak is a visual artist based in Guelph, Ontario. Currently an artist in residence at Boarding House Arts in Guelph, Parniak’s work focuses on critiquing the historic icons that make up the current popular conception of individual and celebrity identity. Often sprinkled with tongue in cheek references to “Quasi-Canadiana”, Parniak exposes symbolic global connections in order to diffuse nationalistic agendas. Parniak’s work has been shown in Halifax, Toronto, Calgary, Guelph, and Stockholm, Sweden.

RE: Morse/RE: Miss are from the on-going “Star Series”, which uses newspaper images to construct a commentary on public identity ad information consumption.
